E-passport server down, activities will be normal on Tuesday

Online e-passport applications have been closed for almost a week. As a result, people had to rush to the passport office to get the service. On Monday, many people were seen crowding the information and search center in front of the passport department at Agargaon. And on the e-passport website, displaying the notice  - the application service stopped for repair. However, Brigadier General Mohammad Sadat Hossain, director of the e-Passport and Automated Border Control Management Project, said the e-passport portal would be launched by Tuesday morning. Earlier, the Passport Department had said that e-passport services would be closed on March 15 and 16 to conduct OAT and fail-over tests at the Disaster Recovery Site (DRS). Applicants for these two days will be served on March 20 and 21. But even on March 21, due to server complications, online application could not be lodged. According to Passport Department sources, there are servers for e-passports in Dhaka and Jessore. The server in Dhaka is the main server and the secondary one is in Jessore. If the Dhaka server is not working for any reason, activities are supposed to continue in Jessore. The Passport Department decided to launch a trial to verify the effectiveness of the Jessore server. Jessore server became effective on 15th and 16th March and the test was also successful. However, there was a complication when I started working from Jessore server to Dhaka server. It is not possible to apply online as there is no solution.
